One for 2009... (at last!)

Well poor old Kofi... we were totally and utterly convinced she was in foal when she was scanned the last time, you could have wiped me off the floor when the vet said she was empty.  So the decision was made just to keep teasing her and see what happened....

... well nothing happened, some days she'd chat politely to Nico but she never showed in season, so I thought it was time the vet looked at her again.  the reason she hadn't been coming into season - IN FOAL!!!!!  Obviously missed on the eighteen day scan, she is clearly very in foal now, great news.

So the first Nico foal for 2009 is due 23rd of April, Kofi is on loan to Steve and Bob and owed by Sian Royal.  They have already had a county win with "Chamfron Nagasha" this season, so fingers crossed for a healthy spotty bott to carry on the family honour in the show ring.

Edinburgh invitational six chukka match.

Up to Edinburgh this weekend to take part in Jamie Douglas's six chukka match at Edinburgh.  After a shaky couple of chukkas where Border Reivers was getting thoroughly thrashed, they pulled themselves togeather with Mark scoring the winning goal in the dying minutes of the game.

Both Criollos went and Will Ramsey kindly lent Mark Erica for the remaining chukkas, she's a nice mare, a very nice mare....

Photos taken on my new toy..... I think I'm in love with my new camera and my ridiculously large lens!!!

And the winning streak continues.....

Border Reivers Spring Tournament this weekend and after a glorious day on the Saturday the heavens opened on Sunday.  Both ponies played well again and Mark was on the winning low goal team.

Back to earth with a bang (literally) as the prop shaft dropped off the wagon... Oooops!!  Mind you thats the sign of a good wagon, it made it home before it gave up the ghost.

Happy Birthday Mark!
