Chamfron Britannia Away

Betty loaded and travelled like a dream and is safely in her new home with Rowena.  She is currently growing like a weed and colouring out rapidly so I'm expecting her to look very different when we see her next at the Scottish Appaloosa show.  Hopefully she will go eventing later and with a winning point to point dam and New Brig and Meadowbrook bloodlines she should certainly gallop and jump.

Chamfron Lysander - 3 Days Old

What a superb end to another brilliant foaling season.

The 2013 Girls

Bellini, Perdita and Mara.

Woodpeckers...

Lovely to see a juvenile woodpecker being fed at the peanut feeder this morning.

Chamfron Angel Dust - 2 Years Old

So pleased to see Peaches looking fantastic exactly a year after she left us.  Mable's foals aren't the most inspiring weanlings but boy do they grow on well!  Peaches is a credit to her owner Kayreen Jones and I can't wait to see her out showing.

A Bath for Betty...

Another glorious summers day so it was Betty's turn for a bath before she leaves us next week, we even gave her a few extra spots!

Last foal for 2013

Our imported Quarter Horse mare Shesa Perfect Zippo foals down a super leopard colt by Exbury Ghost to bring another excellent foaling season to a close.  With him being born on the longest day we have named him Chamfron Lysander after the character in A Midsummer Night's Dream.  With us already having Chamfron Perdita it does rather look like we are going for a Jilly Cooper theme this year!

Photos from Farne Islands - Part Two

Marks photos from the Farne Islands, including a little Puffin about to get a bath!

Photos from the Farne Islands - Part One.

My photos from today from a slightly grey start to glorious sunshine.  I'm pleased with some, gutted by a close enough to touch, smiling, dancing Puffin who's head is sadly blurry, better than last year though I think.  Now to see if Marks are better...!!!  Oh and yes I asked Mark to swap hats, they seemed drawn to me in pink!

Farne Islands

Another glorious day for a trip to the Farne Islands with Hannah who had never seen a Puffin before.  Loads of birds to be seen and then fish and chips on the beach.  Mark had a paddle and Hannah and I are shown doing our best landing Puffin impressions...  Loads of photos to follow as soon as I upload them, I think a wee contest to see who got the best shots, Mark or me...

Slightly Overdramatic...

The deer have got too used to having the back field to themselves. I fairly startled this one, you can see the hair flying off him!

Another Scan...

Joanna scans in foal to Arrayan Numa, she is due the 4th of May 2014.

McFlurry's first "foal" crop!

They are getting little mohawks and climb trees, fair to guess they are McFlurry children!

Millie - Day 10

Starting to look a lot more like a polo pony after a hair cut (with her owners permission!!) tail up, bandages on.  She is neck reining well in walk and canter now so we introduced her to the polo stick and as she was unfazed we then introduced a ball in walk.  She immediately got the idea and was happy to have the ball hit in canter and was starting to follow it herself.  She is showing a super attitude.

Guid Nychburris

A first foray into common ridings for us, with Mark being asked to be one of Callum's Pursuivant's men at Guid Nychbrris in Dumfries today.  Weather stayed dry despite the forecast and I hear Marks hirling "Olympus" was a bit of a dude.  I got to hitch a lift in the grooms bus and leap out and take photos at the best points which was brilliant.
