Pampita away...

Because Pampita's uterus is a ball of pus she has gone on permanent loan to Sarah to be companion to Chamfron Cactus Jack!  He is looking absolutely fantastic and has fairly filled out in the last few months, he seemed quite happy with his dragon.

Started weaning

Hanami is now in and weaned and will be heading off to join her brother in a few weeks, can't believe its that time of year already but she is a cracking big filly.

Tiger is at the end of his six weeks stay with us and having had a wee jump under saddle is now ready to head off home tomorrow.

Pitufa has been brought in for "Fat Camp" as she is a little rotund, to give them an interest her and Mark have been shooting balloons in the paddock!  If you look closely you can see the remnants of the white balloon floating away but we will be experimenting with water balloons, smoke or talc to make more dramatic images over the next few weeks.

Malambo backed (Again)

Cobblers children and all that but Malambo is now in to be ridden.  He was backed as a two year old with no problems, turned away to grow up it then rained all of his three year old year and we didn't do anything with him.  He came in as a four year old and was sat on for a few seconds, woah he said, I don't think you've been there before and provided me with a great set of dramatic images deemed "not suitable for the blog!" Having thoroughly upset himself he was turned back out for the winter and is now five (seriously, how does that happen?)  He has had Ted on him for a couple of weeks in the stable, was sat on in his stable on Tuesday then ridden in the pen today.  So far he only goes clockwise but he's doing it in walk and trot, hugely powerful and forward, he's going to be some horse.

Joanna vs Juana

We have recently found out that Joanna is in fact Juana and played two seasons polo with Fiazz Khan in Yorkshire.  He said she had a very good mouth and plenty of speed.

Tiger Update

Tiger working well in the house field at the end of his fifth week with us.

Chamfron Compostela - Six years old

Stela had a photo shoot ready to get her own page on the website, on studying the photos I noticed three things...  1) Mark could stand closer to his razor.  2) Stela has very floofy ears and 3) They were not taking my direction and artistic flair seriously!

Glorious

Yet another glorious autumn day, Mark harrowed the house field while I wandered about spreading grass seed (probably feeding the birds).  Bright orange pollen billowing out behind the tractor.  The House Martins were limbering up, preparing to leave.

Capture!

The Criollo children have surrounded Mark and are now halter breaking him before offering him for sale...

Breaking Update

Stela has a chat with stable jockey Ted and Tiger is starting to look more relaxed at the end of his fourth week with us.

Autumnal

Plenty signs of Autumn around including the start of the rut on the Trail Cam (yes, I went back on my original plan and moved it).  You must beware the driveway brambles - he only licks them!

Ditching

Another glorious day here, in fact we've had so little rain Mark had to clear the stream in the front field to get it running and keep the water clear for the horses.  Hanami and Mojito said "that looks awful tiring in this heat"!  Both the trees and the horses are starting to get their rich autumn colours.
