Mojito packed his bags and headed up the motorway to Rowena today, loaded like a dream and travelled so quietly we wondered if we'd imagined loading him. An absolutely cracking youngster, I always felt he was the one to try and fill Betty's shoes and luckily for us Rowena agreed.

Chamfron Oro Rosa - 9 months old
Rather losing the light when Rosa went out but she pulled some nice dance moves for me, athletic wee soul!
Arrayan Numa in the snow
Arrayan, the handsome devil, posing beautifully and making sure he will be in the studs 2016 calendar! Then he fashioned a chamfron from snow and pretended to be a fearsome war horse, off to slay whoever stole all his grass.
Proper snow
A decent snow fall last night giving us about a foot lying, the first snow Bombero has ever seen! The dogs may have been slightly bribed for their part in the photo shoot. How come such an old bimbly whippet managed to move so fast he is out of focus…?

Wildlife Camera - January
The original set now has two more entrances and has been greatly expanded so we've experimented with different camera angles. I have another plan for the camera in February if we can get it where we want it, its just going to need a wee bit careful balancing...

Je suis Charlie
The damn fox has been at my chickens again and they are now confined to barracks. An extremely large and healthy fox had been seen by the vet facing up to the tups so we went on a walk around the fields to see if we could see it. We didn't but we did find a mound of pigeon feathers, an ex pheasant and a recently deceased heron. I didn't think much took on herons and I'm half expecting this mega fox to be found chewing on one of Arrayan's ears next.
I won't be walking the dogs tonight…!

Cimbra Carmave (Arrayan's dam)
A few nights ago I stumbled on the catalogue for the dispersal of Numa's Criollos in 2013 and included in the sale was Arrayan's dam Cimbra Carmave who I haven't seen a photo of before. There was also a lovely article about Numa's Criollos and how he felt he'd achieved a childhood dream of representing his country when he sold Arrayan to the UK.

Pathetically sickly
I'd only just packed away my Christmas Rudolph hat when I was struck down sickly and rapidly developed my own rosey snout... and hacking cough and pathetic weakness. Work achieved so far in 2015... nowt, nil, nada, nothing at all. It's a poor effort.
Comfort Rats Sans Frontières (because "Rats Without Borders" is a naff name...) leapt into action, with a steady supply of strepsils, lemsips and coffee - all hot drinks were laced with vodka and rum so while I will recover I'm probably now an alcoholic.

Not quite to plan...
This photo pretty much sums up the week so far, five minute jobs taking all day. The tractor has conked out, it won't restart but in the process of trying we have lightly dented the bonnet of the Ranger, lightly banged Marks head and electrocuted him, lost a spanner in the mud and sworn quite a lot. On a more positive note we do have pretty rainbows...
