Breaking Update
An absolutely glorious day today and all the horses worked well in the sunshine. Sakura worked beautifully in the pen (day three of being ridden) and then went a hack down the driveway.
In tractor news - the loader was located, returned and fitted to Davina with no problems. Mark and I popped the topper on and off into battle she went. For 200 yards, then she stopped and was towed back up the driveway in bloody disgrace.

Sunny Sunday Chukkas
Pitufa went to polo today while Arrayan had a weekend off (I imagine him with a beer and the rugby, then having seen the Uruguayan / Australian score, I imagine him with lots more beers). It was a gloriously sunny day and I almost nailed the elusive bridge shot!
In other Chamfron news Rebecca and Chamfron By Dand cruised round their first 40km endurance ride at Tentsmuir.

The wanderer returns!
Davina the David Brown returned from her all summer trip to the health camp (the things tractors will do to get out of topping and harrowing). We were so excited to see her return, so dazzled by her cleanliness that we didn't immediately twig why she looked slimmer, sleeker, more racy. Yes Davina the dirty stop out has returned without her underwear. Operation "where in the hell is the tractors front loader" has now commenced...
Breaking Update - Chamfron Sakura
Sakura on day one, yes trotting in the outdoor pen, these Nico foals are wild and dangerous beasties!

It's all go!
All the sheds are getting mucked out today so the yard is a hive of activity... and shite!
Cherry the coloured mare went home on Tuesday night and Sakura arrived back to be broken in today. I cannot believe it is three years since a smaller and much fluffier spotty towed me onto the trailer and headed of to her new home. Looking forward to seeing another Chamfron under saddle.

Breaking and Schooling Update
Everyone worked on grass tonight, the first time for Mac who suggested he'd never seen black wrapped bales before - we suggested this was perhaps a *little* unlikely!

Schooling Update - Patchy Ponies
Zeus headed home today and his replacement Betty arrived for a fortnights schooling, she had a short session in the pen but showed marked improvement from start to finish. Cherry worked in the big field with no problems. I don't think we've had a coloured here for schooling in seven years so it's a novelty to have two in together.

Glorious Day
The sun was out today, everyone worked well including new girl Cherry who went nicely in the outside pen. The foals aren't fooled though and are starting to fluff up nicely!

Breaking and Schooling Update
Mac is starting week four and is hacking down the drive. Zeus is on week six and has had a wee pop before heading home at the end of the week. New girl Cherry is here on a fact finding mission, she was bought untried from a dealer and then a wee bit rude the first time her new owner sat on her so we are seeing out what she knows and what she doesn't. She trotted round the inside pen fine and went for a hack with no problems so our gut feeling is that the dealer was pretty straight and she'll be grand.

Chamfron Mojito - Strathkelvin Show
We had a lovely day out with the yearling Chamfron Mojito and his owner Rowena today. He took champion in the rare and foreign breeds ring and was very well behaved on his first ever outing, even when we all admired his magnificently fluffy ears.
