The Trail Cameras

A positive badger sighting in the woods this month along with some foxes, rabbit, squirrel and deer shots.  Meanwhile the garden camera has become pheasant selfie central, there has been the odd shot that wasn't a pheasant, I've had a hare, a pair of partridges, a few nice shots of the fox cub and many many close ups of the whippet...

First hint of Autumn

Today is the autumn equinox and we are starting to get the nippy misty mornings and a real hint of just how spectacular the foliage will be in a couple of weeks time.  In the garden a Sedum (I think!) is providing a last flourish of food for the bees and butterflies.

Even more awesome badgering!

At one point there were four badgers happily munching within ten foot of me.

Showcross Winner

Chamfron Kukri and Gemma are back out competing, (Gemma has been on maternity leave!) winning the 80 and 95cm class at Lauderdale Showcross on Sunday.

Awesome Badgering!

I am house sitting for a few nights and there is an added bonus, BADGERS!  On the first night two were happy to be photographed from the house so this afternoon I bounced down to the shack and spread peanuts about left, right and centre, I didn't bounce back up all those stairs with quite such gay abandon!  As it gets dark you start to see a badger in every shadow, dock leaves and stones look suspiciously brock like but in reality when they arrive you can't miss them, they attack the peanuts with gusto and are noisy enthusiastic eaters.  They came within three feet of me as I sat in the open doorway, only leaving when the rain turned torrential.

Scottish Appaloosa Show - Chamfron Chaco

Lovely to see Anne with Chaco at the Scottish Appaloosa show today.  He was third in a big condition class, second in the two year olds and won the best any other colour.  All while being impeccably behaved.
