Spanish Sunshine

Natalia has had Chamfron Nagasha two years today.  I think if you are going to own a large grey horse it is definitely preferable to have it in Spain and away from all our rain and mud!

Spotted on my travels (7)

A goat guarding a gateway and an extremely breezy stroll up to Hopetoun Tower where you could see from the Pentland Hills all the way round to North Berwick Law.

Glamping, not camping!

Best way to recharge the batteries, a play in the snow at Carter Bar followed by a trip to Hesleyside Huts near Bellingham to stay in the utterly glorious Holly Hut.  Not just glamping but luxury glamping at its very best, so quiet and peaceful.  Did venture out for a walk up past the wishing tree to Hareshaw Linn falls (plenty of water coming down!) and then a trip to the famous Alnwick Barter Books (left empty handed, polishes halo!)

Storm Ciara

Photos don't do justice to just how much rain we had overnight, the Tweed is as high as I've ever seen it and water is still pouring off the fields.

Light at the end of the tunnel

A quick visit to the Colinton tunnel mural yesterday before storm Ciara hit. This is a project fronted by artist Chris Rutterford who took inspiration from the railway that used to run through here and illustrated the words from the Robert Louis Stevenson’s poem “From a Railway Carriage.”  It is a community project with over 450 people involved and they hope to have finished the 140 meters by the Spring, transforming a run down dark spot that people hurried through to a place where everyone stopped and chatted.

This week

Chamfron Tizona has been expertly two toned to aid her fitness program as she is being aimed at the 22km Man v Horse race later in the year. Chamfron Nicobar has been registered with British Eventing and Chamfron Colorado picked up his first trophies at the AGM, he won the Scammadale Quaich for the Argyll horse with most pleasure kms and shared the Dylan’s Drum for the most Argyll rides.  Oh, and I passed my probation at work...
