Marco leaves home!
We have just delivered Marco to his new home in the most beautiful countryside. Hopefully we will see him out and about at the shows soon. Quite possibly the cutest foal - I have great hopes for him!

Taking my own advice...
Ah well the great new breeding plan failed at the first hurdle - The few spot mare I had bought in "Kadan White Dancer" sadly tested heterozygous grey which is no good when you are breeding spots so she had to go.
I actually took my own advice for a change which is "if a horse doesn't do your job, price it so that it will sell quickly to someone who has a job for it, and move on," I am constantly amazed how many people ask us to sell their horses and despite them being vastly inferior to the horse they bought (no recent competition record, not in work, won't load, blemished - usually all four!) they always want more than they paid for it!!
So Dancer was advertised as grey, her price adjusted accordingly and she left this morning to start her new career under saddle.
You win some, you loose some, hey ho.

Another polo addict?!!!
Another glorious day for the Bank Holiday Monday and we had a lovely visit from Rose and Dick. Arrayan showed of his paces and much reduced gut!! After a fast and furious display with Mark on him Peter decided to have a shot (his first time on a horse since the sad demise of Jack). The first lap of the field Peter looked a little ill at ease but after picking up a polo stick he soon relaxed, put his shoulders back and started to hit some decent shots. The only fear is that this could get a) addictive and b) expensive!!
Rose will murder me for this but.....
He's not too bad for a 5 year old stallion is he?!!

New Girl!!
Very excited to have brought Lady Erica home to join the broodmare band!
We have coveted her for a long time!! Many Thanks to Will at Border Reivers for letting us have her. She will be covered by Arrayan once she has settled in and been swabbed.
We took the opportunity to take Pitufa to stick and ball while we were picking her up. It was more "romantically misty" than drab and grey as it looks in the photo!!
Tizzy (Chamfon Nagasha) has also come back to start his education under saddle and to give his dam a bit of piece and quiet as she currently resembles a small house!
