Spotted on my travels (2)

It's been all about the butterflies this week, hundreds of them!  Highest numbers were definitely the Painted Ladies which have arrived in the UK en masse this summer.  They are migrating from Africa to the Arctic Circle, a trip of 7500 miles, and roughly every ten years we get a bumper crop of them.  I also smiled at nature taking on the fence and winning!

Soggy Sheep

Stewarding the Shetland sheep at the Border Union show today, fair to say it was a little bit damp...

Chamfron Zamba 07.07.2015 - 26.07.2019

Not been the best of months in the Chamfron camp.  Poor Zamba picked up a leg injury and caused catastrophic damage to her tendon, sadly it was an utterly bleak prognosis and the decision was made to put her down this morning.

Absolutely adored to the very end.

The professional photos taken by Kris Clay of Chamfron Colorado at the SERC Championships at Peebles.  Fabulous as always!

Basically Badgers

The cameras have been pretty neglected of late.  The cheap and cheerful one in the woods has given up, I put new batteries in but it made no difference, it needs retrieved and binned.  The best of the Birdcam 2.0 has flat batteries which I will replace tomorrow and the one on the decking has been stoically snapping away but almost certainly needs a decent wipe over and bated more often.  Nothing much of note really other than that is surely a cub in the second photo?

I've just been out hacking, going out late to avoid the flies and the wildlife was amazing, deer crossing 10ft in front of us, followed by a badger boldly coming down the road towards us and a hare stood on it's hind legs just taking in the scene!

Old news!

Looking for something else on Google and stumbled on an article on the East Park RDA page.

"On Thursday 26th May, a lovely sunny day, we held an open day to celebrate the opening of our new stable building, attached to the end of the indoor school at Little Brook Equestrian. The building was donated by Caroline Clarry, pictured above cutting the ribbon with our patron Dame Judi Dench. Mrs Clarry is a member of the President’s Club of RDA National and has asked us to name the building the Chamfron Building after the stud belonging to a great friend who recently died.

Various donors had contributed to the cost of putting the building up, and were invited to the opening, along with the Mayor and Mayoress of East Grinstead. Dame Judi brought her daughter Finty Williams with her and a number of our other supporters were also invited.

Some of our visually impaired riders from St Stephen’s School gave a demonstration lesson before presenting bouquets to Dame Judi and Mrs Clarry. After the official opening ceremony, a buffet lunch was served inside the new building, which was much admired by all."

I like the matching nails and shiny new scissors!

Polo Camp, 4yo Chamfron Chaco

Ann and four year old Chaco were at polo camp this weekend at Stewarton so I popped up to pat his snout.
