Keep Moving - Week 16

Sunday,Tuesday and Thursday nights were a railway line stroll with a pal.  Wednesday we (Craig and I, not Spidey!) investigated Carberry woods, starting at Carberry Tower and walking through the woods to Queen Mary's mount.  Spotted our first bluebells of the year and walked along a very imposing avenue of giant redwoods.  The commemorative stone which states that the earthworks "were thrown up by the English" is thought to not be entirely true and the site is an Iron Age hill fort which rather pre dates the Battle of Pinkie.  Saturday started at Forgandenny Horse trials then I thought I'd swing past Loch Leven on the way home.  I have the circular around the loch on my list of walks to do, as it is 13 miles long and there are current path closures I knew it wouldn't be completed today but I thought I'd do a few miles.  Firstly, I never learn, I could have headed back to the M90 but no I took the scenic route provided by Google maps, one eye carefully on my rapidly decreasing fuel range until I eventually finished up at Kirkgate Park car park.  Heading clockwise I quickly hit the path closure, sauntering back in the opposite direction I planned to head to the RSPB centre but as the night got muggy I was walking through a curtain of a million small flies.  I wiped them off my teeth and out my eyes, watched the uninspiring gravel track head off into the distance and decided I was done for the day!
