Keep Moving - Week 17

Usual Sunday hack with both boys out together then we went for a stroll along the prom at Portobello.  Walk round New Winton on Monday, hack on Spider on Tuesday and Cactus on Wednesday.  Started Thursday with a 5km run before work, slightly different route, the advantage of the first kilometre being properly downhill that and the new go faster leggings meant a personal best of 34.26.  Afternoon stroll around Polkemmet country park then a lesson with Lorraine at Equine Translation, this time consolidating the canter and working on the timing of the aids (so that's really simple and also a complete revelation to me!).  Pole clinic on Friday and felt there was a small improvement in sitting up and carrying myself more in canter (the hands still need work!)  Started Saturday with a few miles walking around the Musselburgh Lagoons before heading off to Falkirk for the ten year anniversary of the Kelpies concert.  Bit of a mixed bag there, I had to agree with the woman next to me who had apparently stood next to Rebecca Vasmant in the queue for the loo and said "sorry love, not being mean, didn't get your vibe", honestly the Red Hot Chilli Pipers were also disappointing, not a lover of their lead singer for the night and can we move on from the dancers showing their pants to five thousand folk?  Video on the Kelpies emotional, Callum Beattie good and the Kelpies lit up, stunning as always.

Keep Moving - Week 16

Hacked out on Sunday with Julie and Libby and then had a stroll along the coast at Port Seton.  Six work miles on both Monday and Tuesday, then Spider went a wee hack on Tuesday afternoon.  I particularly like that my phone does not consider trekking through plough, with a rucksack and sweating profusely "exercise minutes" but bimbling around the block in walk on Spider absolutely does count!  5km jog before work on Wednesday, definitely feels all uphill this way, I cut off through the muddy woodland path to finish so a slow 39.42 and another 5km after work on Thursday (the preferred downhill route) 36.59.  Quick hack on Friday night for Spider, starting to feel more spring like (though still not warm) - lambs looking less waterlogged and finally tractors in fields, getting crops in.   Glorious Saturday so both boys were hacked out before we had a stroll through Princes street gardens (full of sightseers and sunbathers!) on our way to dinner.  Local post box topper suggests "it's time for bed"
