Keep Moving - Week 30

The week started with pole clinic on Sunday then I fitted in another short walk at Loch Fitty / The Walnut Whips on Monday.  On Tuesday the meeting point for work was the House of Bruar so I prised myself out of bed early to get round the bypass before the traffic snarled up and then clocked out on arrival and did the waterfall walk.  There was more water flowing than I expected but there has been recent sudden surges of high flow caused by SSE works upstream so it may be related to that.  Later on we spotted some unusual "pine cones"!  Cactus hacked out on Thursday and Friday then on Saturday we waked along the Water of Leith and round Colinton Dell.

Pole Clinic - Cactus

My first pole clinic on Cactus, he was very alert and up periscope to start with but he settled nicely and occasionally, just occasionally there are moments of less pokey nose!  He is starting to feel a little bit straighter.

Keep Moving - Week 29

Started Sunday by taking Cactus and Molly out along the railway line and boxing back home, Cactus wasn't as convinced by this but it's another box ticked.  We then headed down to Dunbar for a mill about at the World Stone Stacking Championships.  I rejected a lot of the photos as they felt cluttered and chaotic but they were probably an accurate representation, we didn't stay until the finish but there was little with the wow factor this time.

I'd taken Wednesday off work and entered Spider in the Dalkieth endurance ride, having retired him they did let me change my entry to Cactus but he's just not quite there.  The arrival of a new livery has unsettled him, despite it being the most laid back, utterly inoffensive big gentleman of a horse.  I did hack him in the morning before taking Libby to the ride, plans to go a walk while she was out were scuppered as the ride information was very clear - we were not, under any circumstances, to leave the venue field!  We tested out the living in the trailer instead with a slap up meal of Super Noodles!  Quick walk around Galashiels on Friday, spotted the new sheep, and a hack on Saturday morning.

Spider made the Facebook page of Hoods Honey from a coffee stop several weeks ago.
