Keep Moving Week 35

Met Helen for a chat and walk around Old Melrose on Sunday, had a quick (very soggy) daunder in Dundee mid week and then back to the weekend jobs of moving electric fences and visiting garden centres.  The long commutes are over for another year, no more excuses, need to get moving again!

Keep Moving Week 34

Managed a few hours in the Pentlands on Sunday morning, climbing Allermuir and Caerketton Hills in the sunshine.  Tuesday was a damp and drizzly day which meant work was postponed so I clocked out and managed to get seven miles in around Crieff including Lady Mary’s walk.  On Saturday we headed out to New Lanark (listening to a Spotify podcast about Chamfron by Dand on the way!) and walked along the Falls of Clyde to Bonnington Weir, pleasant but lacking in water flow for maximum drama!!

Chamfron Results

Chamfron Colorado was at the Argyll Challenge.  He was out with Dom who was doing the Pony club class on the Saturday, several of the North Argyll branch of the Pony Club members took part, completed the 8km round Loch Scammadale and got their pony club endurance badges.  On the Sunday it was a very hot trot round a tough 30km route so he was glad of a wee paddle!  HR out on Saturday 24 and in 28, HR out Sunday 30 and in 38, getting best condition for the 30km too.

Chamfron Mojito was at Totleywells Equestrian for two firsts in the dressage.

Keep Moving Week 32

I was working near Lockerbie this week so I had a good wander about town, all in all it felt fairly depressing and I felt no nostalgia.  I also did the Castle Loch loop at Lochmaben which was more picturesque.  Then on Saturday we met up with Rebecca who was doing another 30km at Abbey St Bathans.

Chamfron Toledo - Trailblazers

Last minute decision to take Chamfron Toledo to the Trailblazers 2025 showjumping championship for his first stay away show.  They jumped a total of 7 rounds with a few unlucky poles along the way but some excellent double clears and jump off times against some very strong competition.  Overall finishing 12th in the 70cm out of 51 entries, then placing 2nd in the 60cm.

Keep Moving Week 31 - Part 2

We visited Państwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau which is a museum on the site of the Nazi German Auschwitz concentration camp in Oświęcim, Poland.  The site includes the main concentration camp at Auschwitz I and the remains of the concentration and extermination camp at Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Both were developed and run by Nazi Germany during its occupation of Poland in 1939–1945. The Polish government has preserved the site as a research centre and in memory of the 1.1 million people who died there, including 960,000 Jews, during World War II and the Holocaust. It became a World Heritage Site in 1979.  There is a myth that the birds don't sing at Auschwitz but it is of course not true, wildlife always returns.  We also saw the "wall of tears"and the Krakow Ghetto before some lighter activities.  We found the Krakow statue to Wojtek the bear (there is also one In Duns and Princess Street gardens) and visited the museum of Illusions.
