Feathered Friends!

We finally bit the bullet today and cleaned out the horse box container ready for it to be sold, I found champagne, Mark found his favorite La Martina jumper and the chickens (and some of the local wildlife!) dined out on out of date Dorito's and Bombay Mix!

Hopefully the weather will improve soon and I can update the foals photos, all growing like weeds!!

Chamfron Kukri at Two!

Last of our foals for 2011!

Mable (Carter Bar)'s foal at two days old, a very friendly spotty filly by Exbury Ghost, spitting image of her two year old Chamfron Soutra Brae.

Busy, busy, busy!!

We have had a good couple of days in Edinburgh, firstly with a trip to the zoo which was lovely and quiet. We were treated to the sea lions hurtling about and a bit of a marital disagreement in the sun bear enclosure!

In the evening we were off to see Bon Jovi at Murrayfield, a good night and a huge crowd. A few hours kip later we dashed off to the Highland show for a quick trundle round and then home to see the last of the 2011 foals which had made an appearance in our absence! Luckily Muriel and Peter had had a crash course in "breeding 101" the night Cherry and Tammy foaled and coped admirably. Mable is a very experienced and easy broodmare but still these horses do like to have the last laugh don't they?!

So a lovely chestnut leopard filly (poor photo but I think old age is catching up with me, the ankle is giving me jip, I have the cold, I can't take the nights out anymore, quite honestly I resemble Rudolf with Navicular) better photos to follow tomorrow!

Chamfron Wakizashi (Wanda) Away!

Wanda left home this morning, loaded easily (just as well, she's a big girl to shove!!) and travelled fine. She has met her new friend Cali and settled in super. Wishing Tessa all the best with her.

Chamfron Parador - 11 days old

A really beautiful foal with a cracking front on him and muscles on his muscles... and doesn't he know it?!

Chamfron Tizona - 10 days old.

A very bouncy cheery wee soul! She is named Tizona after El Cid's sword, used to fight the Moors in Spain and now one of Spain's most cherished relics. All Ellie's foals have had sword related names as she is the dam of the two year old Kukri and the yearling Wakizashi.
