More outings

Chamfron Paloma was at the WES National show over the weekend, she was 1st in Novice Rider Pleasure, 3rd in Novice Horse Pleasure, 6th in intermediate horse trail, 4th in Walk Jog Trail and 1st in Novice Rider Ranch Horse.  She also likes a wee jump!  Chamfron Cactus Jack is well and happy though his teeny girlfriend Sheep (who is a pony) has left to have foals and been replaced by a more compatible grazing companion.  Chamfron Ojo de Tigre was at the Scottish TREC Championships, his first full length TREC competition.  It's lovely that everyone is getting out and about this year, with competition results from several horses most weekends and they are doing a bit of everything, eventing, dressage, endurance, polo, western, TREC... which was after all, the plan.

Pootling, Party and 'Pacas

A wander around the Borders General on Friday night where we spotted their memorial painted stone project and a lovely statue of spring lambs.  Then a trip to Sonya's for "Party in the field" and a second trip to the lovely Velvet Hall Alpacas.

Meet Up!

Chamfron Colorado managed to stand on one of his back boots snapping a strap early on today but Jessica grabbed a spare at the first crewing point, however they were now running way behind on time and he was uptight about waiting. Thankfully they managed to make up time and get round the 30km for SC3 Gold, heart rate was 29 on starting and 38/38 at the finish.  There was also an impromptu Chamfron meet up - Chamfron Colarado meeting Chamfron Agata de Fuego who was doing the pleasure ride today.

Go Prickle!

Chamfron Nicobar only went and WON his class at Blair today.  So pleased for his owner / rider Susan who does a great job with him and for Peregrina stud who gave him a fabulous start.

Another uber all rounder!

Another Arrayan Numa youngster graduates from the Peregrina Stud "we turn our hooves to anything" camp!!   Chamfron Almendra went on her first dressage outing as a retrained polo pony today.  She coped extremely well and gained two respectable scores of 65% and 64.4% - looked very smart too!

Homeward bound

On Wednesday we popped back to the Corpach shipwrecks.  The large boat is the MV Dayspring who was originally a mackerel and herring fishing boat but was being repurposed as a house boat when she was torn from her mooring at Camusnagaul Bay during a storm in 2011.  There is also a smaller wreck further along the beach, the Argo but I can't find much about it.  After a lovely visit to Jessica and Colorado we headed off with a few stops on the way home, the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge, the Laggan Dam viewpoint and James May's caravan from the Grand Tour, Lochdown!

Tourist trip!

On the Tuesday morning my phone cheerily chirped "yesterday you achieved over 200% of your move goal, what will you achieve today?"  At that point I could barely straighten up and every step was accompanied by whimpering so you can insert the appropriate response!  Despite having never read the books or watched any of the movies we went to wave at the Hogwarts Express as it made its way across the Glenfinnan Viaduct and then we headed on to Mallaig and back via the most beautiful beaches at Traigh.  Finally we had a quick visit to the Corpach shipwreck which sits imposingly below Ben Nevis.
