Keep Moving - Week 38

Crewing at the Scottish champs on Sunday with full custody of teeny dog this time!  On the way home we did a small tourist detour to the Maggie Wall Witch memorial at Dunning, it is suspected that Maggie Wall never actually existed and the memorial is a more generic reminder of the those killed in the hysteria of the 17th century witch trials.  There was however a painted memorial with the words "Maggie May might not have existed but Annalise Johnstone did" - a quick google shows that Annalise was found behind the cairn in 2018 with her throat slit and that despite some damning newspaper articles no one was ever convicted of her murder.  In the cairn there are many white quartz stones with the names of girls and women who have lost their lives to male violence.  Randomly there is also a fairly well known photo of Myra Hindley posing at the monument.

Day off on Monday so I rode Cactus and then we had a walk along the beach at Dunbar.  Cactus was back in the arena on Wednesday and then another trip out in the trailer for a hack on Thursday, he was surprised to find Jaws in East Lothian along with a field full of poppies and miles of stubble.  Just a walk around Humbie woods on Friday night where we spotted a minuscule mouse then under glorious blue skies we headed to Mull on Saturday.
