On Tuesday we "mulled about" - heading to Carsaig, past the Catagory B listed phone box, made famous by the 1945 film "I know where I am going!" and then down to Black Sand Beach. From there we headed up to Salen and stopped at the very photogenic shipwrecks which have been there since the mid seventies. Following the route of the Mull rally next month (which terrifies me) I cheerfully investigated an honesty box, it was slim pickings by that time but we bought a loaf of bread and left the courgettes for the next visitor. On Wednesday we had a trip booked with Mull Charters to see the White tailed eagles, we got up there early and summoned the ferry to Ulva for a cake stop first. We could not have asked for better weather, the sea was like a mill pond and we were treated to six white tailed eagles and a fabulous pod of dolphins. Continuing to wildlife hunt we then went otter spotting down at Croggan, seeing two otters, seals, our first Mull rabbits (including black ones) hedgehog, mink, red deer and a (pet) peacock!
