Iceland part seven

If we’ve made one mistake planning this holiday it was booking two nights in Hofn, it doesn’t justify it, especially when visibility is extremely limited.  We did have a wander around the (movie set) viking village and Stokksness Peninsula but the mighty Vestrahorn Mountain remained hidden in the clouds.  We then started to retrace our steps and head back to Reykjavik, stopping at the Diamond Beach for a second time and having a boat trip on the Jokulsarlon Lagoon, then walking up to a couple of glacier terminus.  A night in an aurora igloo (no chance of a sighting) followed by visit to the Perlan museum to finish up before we returned the car, learning it had already had one crash and seven windscreens in its short life!  Next visit is the Westfjords in 2027.
