We had been holding off moving the mares and foals hoping to get a cut of hay from the field, but honestly its the end of August, we live in a bog, its still raining.....

So the mobile mowers moved on there tonight and just about lifted their heads long enough to pose in all their motheaten glory!!!

Spots before the eyes....

Photographing yesterday at the Northern Appaloosa Show.  Lots and lots of spots, it was lovely to have a really good look at some of the stallions and to put some faces to names!!

Photographing in the indoor school was a "challenge" (Grim lighting, just grim!!!!) but the photos are now on photobox to view -

Next year will be the 20th anniversary of the BApS Northern Show and the organisers have great plans to make it extra special!

Does it again.....

Chamfron Nagasha (Tizzy) adds another yearling hunter class to his tally!! Winning today at Glendale show, near Wooler.

The end is in sight.....

Three more girls scanned in foal.

Mable is due on the 8th of July 2009, to Exbury Ghost for a full brother or sister to Amber.  It is guaranteed to be chestnut and spotty!!

Visiting mare "Little Muffkins" (Giraffe) is in foal to Arrayan Numa due on the 7th of July 2009.  Giraffe unfortunately injured herself playing at the Border Reivers Spring Tournament.  Looking through old polo photos I think this is Giraffe on the far left.

Mark on Togo

Millie is scanned in foal to Exbury Ghost and due on the 3rd of July 2009.  Fingers crossed for a buckskin!!!!

Wash Out!

Perth this weekend, for a three day tournament.  Chukkas against Perth and Chester on Friday night to get into the swing of things.  Rained off on Saturday, but luckily we were staying at Thom Bells so we were able to stick and ball the ponies in his arena.  Rained off again on Sunday, so the Border Reivers headed off to Edinburgh to play chukkas - lovely photo opportunity when the sun shone and the ponies were right there at the end of the lens.  Then back home and back to the grindstone.  Sadly didn't manage to pack Thom's brilliant grooms who had the ponies fed, watered and mucked out at crack of dawn all weekend.

Busy Weekend!!

Busy Busy Weekend!!  Tizzy (Chamfron Nagasha) won for a second time at County level, taking the yearling hunters at Berwickshire County Show.  No photos from me as I was a Barnard Castle photographing at the Dales Breed Show, great weather, some fantastically turned out ponies and a great backdrop for the ridden classes so I'm pretty pleased with the shots I took.  They are available to buy here - http://www.photoboxgallery.com/ChamfronPhotos

Polo on Sunday and the rain came down, boy did it come down!!  After it had cleared the pitch was covered in tiny tiny frogs, did they fall from the sky?
