Coming early

Both the badger and the fox came in in daylight last week, the camera took plenty of photos of the fox but it was clearly very wary and often had a blurry head.  Less photos this week as the camera only performs with brand new batteries, once it gets below 50% (which can be day three!) it gives up of night time images and restricts itself to hundreds of shots of squirrels.  I think the time has come to investigate a different white flash trail cam.

Goooo Onnnnn!!!

Took a spin up to Forgandenny today, along with Jude, we provided our own unique motivational support to Sonya who was having her first spin of the season on Millie.  It worked as she got a double clear!

Having spotted an gorgeous bluebell photo at woods just twenty miles further on, on FB this morning, I decided to kick on and go and snap them... First the sat nav (geriatric) sent me ten miles down the motorway, up the slip (by now in utterly spectacular countryside with fabulous light), turn right, 100 yards, down slip, back up motorway for twelve miles... errr. Thirty mins later I am back where I started but I won't be beaten, oh no!  I eventually get to the wood but never find bluebells and I'm not the only one... there is deep suspicion the photo on FB was not taken this year!!!!

European Stone Stacking

Glorious warm Easter Sunday watching the European Stone Stacking competition at Eye Cave Beach in Dunbar.  My small stab at stacking is the last photo, and to be fair it was nearer three minutes than three hours!

Thugs and Pugs

Glorious weekend forecast so all the rugs came off.  The Shetlands were keen to play with the rugs, I warned them "this will not end well" and right enough soon Victor was blindfolded and lightly throttled by the fillet string.  It didn't stop him trying to wrap Jack up like a Burrito two minutes later, be careful what you wish for boys!  I then acquired a little friend, one of the nicest fittest Pugs I have ever met, he helped bring the horses in and started to come hacking with me but it became apparent his road sense was a little vague and so the neighbours offered to pug-sit until an owner turned up.

Oh Hello!

Armed with a jug full of peanuts I came bimbling around the corner and was a little taken aback to be met by a badger at the top of the stairs.  We stood and looked at each other for a moment and I had a small curse that both the cameras that live in the car are currently on the coffee table at home.  The badger then went down the stairs and under the decking so I put some peanuts out and watched it for a good fifteen minutes, sitting about ten foot away.  It will be interesting to see what is on that trail camera tomorrow.  The badger is lame on its near fore which is presumably why it is coming in in daylight and avoiding the others, hopefully it will recover with the help of some easy access food.
