New chooks

Ten new girls with thanks to Homes 4 Hens Battery Hen Rescue near Dumfries, they are a little bald around the edges, especially considering they are free range hens but shouldn't take long to bloom once they are out and about on the yard.

Sammy owned by Rebecca Crump doing Horse Agility organised by Scottish Western Riding.

Chamfron Chipita - 3 years old.

The lovely Chamfron Chipita being ridden by Michael Langford at the Wye Oak summer show.  Chip is owned by Lorna Rowland and the photos were kindly taken by Donna McKenzie.  Its lovely to see Chip doing so well as she was a favorite of mine.

Chamfron Angel Dust - 13 Months old.

Looking so much more grown up already, photo thanks to Kayreen.  Lovely to get up dates on so many of the foals this week.  Chamfron Firefly went to some horse agility last night, travelled well and did everything asked of her ("probably the best yearling ever" from Rebecca) and Chamfron By Dand is away to his first jumping lesson tonight (they are growing up so fast!!)

Chamfron Tizona - 14 months old.

Tizona and the lovely Kismet fighting the flies in the sunny south!  Photos thanks to Christine who describes Tizona as a really cheerful horse who never grumps or sulks.  A super filly in a great home.

The back field...

... almost bathed in sunshine!  We took out a hunt whip to get some action shots of the youngsters but they weren't fooled, whip shy they are not!

Another Scan!

Pleased to hear from Kayreen that Kilmannan Bluebell has scanned in foal to Exbury Ghost, due the 22nd of May 2013.

Monday 23 July 2012

Soggy!

The heatwave and summer have not yet arrived this side of the border, a point sadly lost on the smug weather girls on the TV...

Saturday 21 July 2012

Quick its not quite a bog!!

We are on our second day without torrential rain so Mark dashed out with the topper and tidied up the weeds in the mares field, the foals were too busy grooming each other to give him a passing glance!

Chamfron Deja Vu - five weeks old.

Chamfron Britannia - seven weeks old.

A few foal photos!

Sunday 15 July 2012

Aguacero and Viscacha

Both by Arrayan Numa, owned by vets Jo and Rupert Gourley.

Saturday 14 July 2012

Chamfron Paloma - (nearly) three months old.

Starting to shed her foal coat but holding onto the beard!!

Spotty Girl.

Janey's three year old filly is proving to be really quite straight forward and in true appy fashion strolls off down the driveway with a happy expression on her face.  Although she has been here a month she is being done around Marks other commitments so this probably the sixth time she's been ridden.

Wednesday 11 July 2012

Willacy's Rubenesque - 2 years old

Ruby by Exbury Ghost out of a cob mare.  She is now two, nearly 16hh and beautifully coloured out.  Owned by Omar Rabia, photo thanks to Emma.

Three more mares scanned in foal to Arrayan Numa this morning for May foals, Gordian Knot due the 21st, Llamita the 22nd and Sue Ellen due the 29th, good excuse for a gratuitous photo of Llamita at the top of Elephant Mountain thanks to Juan Pastorino.
