A light dusting.

Mark says this photo should be captioned "The good, the bad and the ugly"

Two of the equines in the photo are mine, one is his...

Cherry is peering over at the haylage and willing Mark to unwrap faster.  They now have two big round bales out in the field but amazingly this is the first they've had this year.  They are all fat and shiny under their rugs but the last field move placed them under the living room windows where they stared in mournfully last night as the snow engulfed them.  It would have taken a harder heart than mine to ignore the sad wee faces!

A truly terrible photo of the most amazingly red, fluffy and large dog fox that has appeared.  Clearly the hunt going through on Tuesday hasn't worried him and he's hungry enough to be wandering up the drive on a fairly regular basis, getting closer and closer to my free range chooks.

I'm desperate to get some good shots of him with the camera... Mark is just desperate to get some good shots at him!!

Horse Breeders Magazine.

Issue three of the Horse Breeders Magazine is now online.  Including an article on how and why we bought Arrayan!

Saturday, 12 December 2009

Very good lads!

Few photos of our wild and unruly boys...!!

Firstly Arrayan who hadn't been ridden in six months, back in work, his new job is collecting the post!!  You wouldn't know he had any time off he is exactly the same to ride as if you had sat on him yesterday.  We think everyone should have at least one Criollo!

J.R leaves home next week so he's had a little extra handling, it has to be said he is so laid back he is horizontal and a super character.

He'll be rugged in his new home ready to be shown in the spring, so we threw the muck sack all over him today to test his reaction (reaction?  What reaction!)  Now this is what all the best dressed foals are wearing this season!

Well winter is here...

Bit of a change in the weather - November was the wettest on record in Dumfriesshire but December has started with a sharp frost and a very cold night.

Of course this has meant the muck spreaders are out all around us - oh arrr, fresh country smells!!
