It was a nice day on the farm so we thought we would climb Criffel (near Sweetheart Abbey) and admire the clear views over Dumfries and Cumbria... Not perhaps the best success on that count to be perfectly honest! About half way up the path changed to bog, about two thirds of the way up the cloud came in and then nearer the top the wind whipped up and it was cold, blustery and visability of about three yards. Had a quick sit on the cairn, a wonder about who Edna is and if she's still doing OK, then back down the hill with quick snap stops as Mark went on his backside and I fell in a hole!

Well done you! No chance of getting a horse up there?
maybe not.
I'm pretty sure you could in the summer, one smallish gate and a few ditches horse would have to step over, other than that. Of course the next question is "would they let you" suspect not!! If anything did go wrong would be tricky to get horse back of hill mind!
Thanks Laura! Had thought about it for some time, as we can see it from our house! I`m always looking for new challenges,
But, no point in taking risks! Well at least, not ones you cant control.
Cheviots coming up in June, yeeha!
