Five "Chamfrons" at the breed show today at Kingsbarn. Chamfron Firefly owned by Rebecca Crump won the two year old class, was second in the three year old and under hunter and Reserve Champion Female. The judge commented on her wayward mane so she had a (very) short back and sides before the day was out!
Chamfron Sakura was second in the yearling class and the judges colour choice (leopard) and fourth in the Sports horse under three years old. Still lovely and sweet and clearly very well loved. The show had caught her in the middle of a growth spurt - her bum was a good six inches higher than her withers!
The full siblings Chamfron Colorado, Snow Goose and Britannia also picked up rosettes. Colorado was second in the Hunters four years and over, third in the sports horse four years and over and fourth in the judges colour choice (blanket). Snow Goose was fifth in the two year old class, she looked well, moved superbly and behaved impeccably , personally we thought she was a little robbed! Britannia was third in the yearlings and sixth in the Sports horses under three, very well behaved at her first show.
Entries seemed to be excellent for the Appaloosa section today, with some big quality classes.
