Gordian Knot (Tammy) foaled a chestnut roan filly at 1.40am after cooking her for over a year, most of this extra work seems to have gone into long legs... and ears!
We have named her Chamfron Quintana as she was born on the hundred year anniversary of the Quintinhill Rail Disaster, which happened just a few miles away. The crash caused the deaths of 228 people and injured a further 246, the vast majority of those were soldiers of the 1/7th Battalion, the Royal Scots on their way to fight in Gallipoli.
HRH The Princess Royal came to the commemoration this morning, we smiled at her having to share a program!
Mark is now keeping a beady eye on the foal in the paddock (sound asleep!)
