Different view of the flying foxes today as we kayaked up the Yarra until we were under the colony. Lovely to see them drinking by touching their bellies in the water and heading back to the trees to lick it off. Due to the heavy rain a few days ago the river was sadly strewn with bottles and rubbish but my favourite little parrot helpfully perched on a suitably scenic branch!

Never been a fan of bats but your photos have a way of making them look majestic, esp the pic with the bat with his eyes closed.. he seems to be enjoying the sun on his face or the flight itself or BOTH! Thanks for sharing. :)
