Keep Moving Week 28

Missed a few weeks because quite honestly I was boring myself!  On Sunday we headed out to Balgone Estates and had a wander around the lakes and checked out their cafe "Herd" - excellent coffee and cinnamon bun, would probably just arrive a little later in future so as not to clash with their popular running club.

We popped a set of front shoes on Cactus last week hoping they would be the magic solution however he is still lame to the point that I think we are probably playing the game of "pick the sound leg" and there in lies the problem.  So far I've spent a thousand pounds to have no solutions and you could easy spend several thousands more.  He isn't the most obliging to trot up or lunge which doesn't help.  The decision has been made that he will now be turned away for the next six months in the hope it is soft tissue and resolves itself.

Spider has been retired for a year but there was this nagging thought, what if he wasn't old, tired and squashed but actually had low grade Laminitis, I  jumped on him, he seemed really quite enthusiastic and was moving well so he is back in tentative light work.  The problem is ideally I need to loose two stone to do much with him and Cactus is pretty useless as a companion but having three horses just to have one to (lets be honest, hopefully) ride is ridiculous.
