Gutted...

Liz scans not in foal when re-checked at forty days - If she's not very careful the blingy browband will be coming out and a veteran show career will be in order!!

I have a name...!

Chamfron Kukri - J.R for short!

Jeannie at six weeks!

Jeannie (Exbury Ghost ex Kofi (Elew)) at six weeks old.  Still Nico's only foal for 2009 - Next one being our imported Quarter Horse mare who is due the 25th of June.

Baby Sittng!

Our neighbours mare produced this gorgeous clydesdale colt yesterday, he's absolutely cracking, big and strong but was ever so slightly thick yesterday, not getting the hang of sucking at all.  Chris, Nova and Alison all had other commitments today so we offered to babysit and finally got him suckling properly at lunchtime.  Once he got the idea he was unstoppable!!

The mare has been fabulous, very canny and easy to do.  She was a bit of an eye opener for us as compared to our little blood mares this girl is like a dairy cow.  The minute the foal is one teat she runs milk from the other!

First Foal for 2009

Sue Ellen (Cruz Forever) foaled a fabulous and very leggy chestnut colt at 7 am this morning.  Never even broke sweat and is a lovely mum.  Foal has an unusual blaze, chin spot, three high whites and the tinniest spot of white on his near side knee.

Another scorching day at Border Reivers on the Sunday so suddenly being in the losers final at 11am looked like it may have been a great tactical move.  Unfortunately then getting resoundingly beaten by Stewarton was a little disappointing.  Again though both ponies played well, here we have Pitufa doing her best "confused" look!

Playing so early made for a very relaxing day, watching the other matches in the sunshine.  Certainly the weekend must have been a great success for the club with nine visiting teams and 150 people for lunch.
