You can't please everyone!!

We try to be utterly transparent about what goes on at our stud, through the blog, the Facebook page and the website it should be pretty easy to find out our views on most things and track the horses from birth onwards.  Now sure the more info you put out there, the more risk you have of saying something that someone just doesn't like, tricky!  This is todays complaint and as its a teeny weeny screen shot I will explain...

Someone asked me to remove this photo of Nico on Facebook, when I politely enquired why I got this message - "Fisrtly He is not a native American. Secondly I feel sorry for the horse having to put up with some silly mans fical fantasy. Finaly submiting this on the internet for all to suffer."  (The spelling mistakes are all their own and please also consider her favorite films on FB are Gladiator and Robin Hood)

What do you say?  I could send back a reasoned discussion but I'm just going to shake my head and smile.  To quote Jimmy Buffett "Breathe in, Breathe Out, Move On"!!

We are debating...

Do you think Wills (Chamfron Westminster) looks more like Boris Johnson or Will the Krill?

Announcement!

After much discussion we have decided that neither Arrayan Numa nor Exbury Ghost will stand at public stud in 2013 but there will of course be lovely youngsters available to buy by them both. Our first foal is due the 25th of March out of the imported mare Fatima and by Arrayan.

Snow, Woop Woop!

First snow of the winter this morning, I think at heart I am an Alpine creature!!!

Hay, Straw and Divots!

Hay delivery before breakfast this morning, 27 bales which should last us around the month even if the Criollo contingent are trying to will it over.  We bedded up the left side of the barn and retired lads Ned and Bugsy got a pedicure and then a wee treat, the afternoon out in the stallion paddock.  Bitterly cold but bright... snow forecast!!

Illicit encounter...!!

Much better day today, sunny with whisps of mist floating around.  I went for a walk while Mark got Blue the cob exercised (rare evidence of Mark riding a furry foot in photo two!!)  Then I had a good ear rub with a mule that is not my own (shock horror), of course when news gets out that you give good ear, well you have no end of admirers....

Internet Blip!

Arghhh lack of internet I was reduced to patting the new shiny laptop and making an effort with the New Years resolution of "eat less, move more".  The weather continues to be incredibly mild, I have been too warm checking the horses in a vest top and waterproof shell, thats not normal or healthy for anyone.  Of course when its mild here its wet and we have now brought in the majority of the horses to give them and the ground a break.  Its giving us a chance to give them a tidy up and a fuss.  With me in control of the TV remote Mark was reduced to doing an Air-fix model Messerschmitt 109.  It looked destined for the bin when he snapped the first part clean in two with his man paws but super glue fixes all!!
