DOLLY!!!

We went to see Dolly in Newcastle tonight for the Blue Smoke tour.  A little cosy in the Metro Radio Arena (with Mark's seat forcing his knees up under his chin more than when he was racing!) but a good night none the less.

I think we might be tempted to steal this awesome Dolly quote, "I don't need advice, I just need information" - it is very us!

Latest Breaker - Phoenix

We picked up Phoenix on Wednesday from Stewarton polo club and he has settled in well, so far basics checked, feet up, happy to have ears handled.  He's been tacked up and had weight in the stirrup and stood quietly.  He does like to try a Billy Badass impression and got offended when we laughed at him instead of quaking in our boots.

While he was being handled Kitty was perfecting her great work "A sculpture in buckets" she is also an expert at the ancient art of bucket origami and to amuse the others she occasionally tries a little bucket juggling.

Badger Cam

Very little badger activity on badger cam at the moment, the odd night where they've teased me by diddling about at dawn or dusk and then the elusive daylight shot... well almost!  Loads of bird activity including this blackbird dad with two fledglings (I presume?)

Positive Scans

Really pleased and more than a little relieved to scan Gordian Knot and Llamita in foal to Arrayan, they are both due the 26th April 2015.  The mares all came out the winter looking incredible, we had tons of grass, the sun was shinning so we started covering early for us.  Then one by one every mare came back into season, we started to panic a little, we suddenly thought only having one stallion seemed a bit "eggs in one basket", we got a little down heartened to be honest.

Last week in the Lidls there was a deal on "kids first science kit" (complete with Microscope) so we checked the main man out, everything was swimming well and there was plenty of them, we breathed a little easier.  Hopefully the rest of the girls will follow suit now and we will try and be less doom and gloom.

We did have a bit of excitement scanning when Tammy decided against being twitched, reared up and landed on Marks head, blood down to his belt and a hoof print on his back, a good look!

Chamfron Sakura - 25 Months old

Chamfron Bellini - First Outing

Yearling Chamfron Bellini had her first show outing today and we hear she was an absolute star, winning three classes and going In Hand Champion.  She is an absolute credit to Natalie and looks fantastic.

Sun shining...

Horses going well... topper still working... marvellous!
