Keep Moving - Week 28

I have walked this week.  Round Big Saltoun woods with Lisa, Martha and the dogs, round the woods here and at Dalkieth country park.  Saw plenty of hares, a rather small fawn and was significantly chewed by midges early one morning.  I didn't take any photos so will share one of mum who passed away last Friday.

In happier news!

I'm practically a granny!  Chamfron Chipita had her first foal by the Highland pony Balmoral Sport, a spotty filly!

If people were just honest

... less horses would be failed.  Poor Ru is with a family down in Essex, they seem absolutely lovely, they have been utterly miss sold a near as dammit unbroken 12 year old half Criollo who's had a bad foot injury as a bombproof pony for their eleven year old daughter.  The sad thing is I saw this coming a mile away, I tried to buy her back.  I correctly guessed the trail of low end dealers that moved her down the country with one exception - she was at bloody Appleby too.  Totally and utterly thrown under the bus by both her previous two owners for nothing but greed.  She turned up at her latest home covered in cuts and thin and yet is still described as an absolute angel in the field, kind, calm, comes to call and does everything else you could ask of her.  You wonder how people sleep at night.

Keep Moving - Week 27

On Sunday I had a walk along the Hermitage of Braid, past the ice house and the doocot.  I have a vague memory that we used to do cross country running along here at school, they'd tip us out a minibus at one end and we'd make our way back to St Margarets.  As well as Aphantasia and being very face blind I also seem to have Severely Deficient Autobiographical Memory (SDAM) so to be honest it is a hazy memory at best!  The rest of the week was just a couple of quick strolls along the Union canal and the woods at home.
