Last weekend we returned home via Alnwick and then had a group dog walk on Saturday at the Lagoons and went to Hopetoun on Sunday where the Fallow deer rut was in full swing. It was glorious Autumn weather, bright and refreshing, with all the autumn colours. This weekend has started with the tail end of storm Austen bringing torrential rain and will finish with storm Boelo bringing yet more rain and strong winds. The horses have come in at nights and I am absolutely not mentally ready for the start of winter so early in the year.
